Airbus plan packs in more travelers by stacking them

No description found

The airline industry is working on a new way to get more people into planes -- stacking them on top of one another.

Aircraft maker Airbus has applied for a patent for a design that would do just that. The seat configuration would add a row of passengers right above those sitting in the cabin, similar to bunk beds.

Airbus says don't panic, it applies for hundreds of patents a year and the stacked seating plane may never be built.
