Updated list of stores closing, opening on Thanksgiving in 2017

DETROIT – The trend in the last few years has been for stores to open their doors for Black Friday shopping the day before - on Thanksgiving.

This year, many stores are trying to buck that trend.

More than 75 big name stores have announced Thanksgiving closures, already, and the list is expected to grow.

Bass Pro Shops – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m
Big Lots (hours not yet announced)
GameStop (hours not yet announced)
Macy’s – Thanksgiving 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Black Friday
Michaels – 6 p.m.; Opens at 5 p.m. for Rewards members.
Rite Aid – Hours Vary by Location (most stores open)
