7 million pounds of hot dogs recalled over bone fragments

DETROIT – It's National Hot Dog Day, but this isn't the way to celebrate.

Sabrett frankfurters is recalling more than 7 millions pounds of hot dogs and other sausage products due the possibility they contain small pieces of bone and cartilage.

There has been one reported minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 8854” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail and institutional locations nationwide.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
