Ford Fireworks to dazzle Detroit skyline Monday, June 27

DETROIT – The Ford Fireworks will light up the Detroit skyline on Monday, June 27 at 9:48 p.m. with picturesque views visible in downtown Detroit and beyond.

Recognized as one of the world’s largest and most magnificent fireworks displays, this popular annual event produced by The Parade Company is a beloved tradition of the city, enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of spectators annually.

"The Ford Fireworks grows bigger and more dynamic each year thanks to the support of Ford Motor Company and our many generous partners,” said Tony Michaels, president & CEO of The Parade Company. “Now in our 58th year, this event has brought together the city and provided much joy and fond memories over the years.  We are thrilled to continue that tradition of putting on a breathtaking show for viewers."

As a longtime supporter of The Parade Company, Ford Motor Company has served as title sponsor of The Ford Fireworks and presenting sponsor of The Parade Company’s Rooftop Party during The Ford Fireworks since 2013. Ford’s partnership with The Parade Company also includes title sponsorship of one of Detroit’s premier events, Hob Nobble Gobble at Ford Field and is the official vehicle of America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van.

“Ford has always been committed to our community and as part of that, is very proud to work with The Parade Company to support this wonderful event,” said Jim Vella, president, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services. “It is incredibly exciting to see residents of southeast Michigan and beyond come together to watch this world renowned fireworks display right here in our own backyard.”

New this year, Ford Motor Company will offer free admission to Belle Isle for the first 1,000 vehicles on the night of the Ford Fireworks, Monday, June 27, by providing the DNR Recreation Passports. This pass may be used at all participating Michigan State Parks for the remainder of 2016.

As producers of The Ford Fireworks, The Parade Company selects the musical arrangement that Zambelli Fireworks Internationale will stage with more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River. This year’s show will be themed “Go Forward Detroit,” a salute to the progress of Detroit and bright future of our city. It will be choreographed again by the world-renowned Patrick Brault who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

As one of The Parade Company’s largest and most popular fundraisers of the year, The Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party offers the best seats in the city to view the fireworks. Guests attending the event will experience live music by Detroit’s own Fifty Amp Fuse, food by Andiamo, games, giveaways and more for adults and kids alike.
