Report: 'Home Alone' actor John Heard dies at 72

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Actor John Heard was found dead Friday at the age of 72.

TMZ reports that Heard died in Palo Alto, Calif. According to the report, he was found by a hotel maid service.

Family sources said police were called for a medical emergency, but Heard was pronounced dead at the scene, according to TMZ.

Heard has had numerous roles in movies and television shows, including "Big" and "Awakenings." He played Peter McCallister, the dad in the "Home Alone" movies.
