Sephora under fire for name of lipstick color 'Underage Red' is part of Kat Von D line
DETROIT – Popular beauty retail chain Sephora is under fire for the name of a lipstick color.
It's called "Underage Red," and it is part of a line designed by reality TV star Kat Von D.
Some say the name suggests it's either for young girls trying to look sexy, or for women of legal age who are trying to look young.
The "Underage Red" lipstick has been on sale for more than a year. This isn't the first time the collaboration between Sephora and Von D has been the center of unwanted media attention. In 2013, Sephora was widely criticized for stocking a lipstick called "Celebutard".
