'1,001' Inventions exhibit comes to Michigan Science Center

DETROIT - The Michigan Science Center has a new exhibit, "1,001 Inventions."

The exhibit shows the Golden Age period of civilization that stretched from Spain to China, beginning in the seventh century. It highlights the scientific and cultural achievements of men and women from various backgrounds and faiths.

Simon Mused, project manager for 1",001 Inventions" at the center, explained the Elephant clock, which is a medieval invention by Ismail al-Jazari, a Muslim engineer and inventor of various ingenious mechanical devices.
