If you’re reading this story, you’re looking for help on how to watch Local 4+ using a Android TV device (don’t worry, we got you covered).
First of all, the full version of Local 4+ is only available for your TV. There is a version you can watch on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone browser (go to https://www.clickondetroit.com/live/) but that webpage only shows you our live on-air newscasts, special event streams, or a Local 4+ selection of local live cams.
That’s a good start, but to get the full experience of Local 4+, you want it on your TV!
So how do you get it?
You need two things: an TV with the right streaming platform (it can be an Internet connected Smart TV or an older non-Internet connected HDTV) and the Local 4+ streaming app.
Android TV has been around since June of 2014. Its successor is Google TV (launched in late 2020) which boasts a slicker interface and Google artificial intelligence to help seek out programming. If you like the Android/Google platform but don’t have it pre-installed on your TV, you’ll need something like a Chromecast or popular on. streaming Android TV player from Walmart.
You can watch the step-by-step video above, or follow these instructions:
- In the TV’s menu (settings menu), find the tab labeled “Apps”.
- Scroll down to the “Search bar” and hit select.
- Search for any of the following terms: WDIV, Local 4, Local 4 Plus, or Local 4+ (all should pull up the Local 4+ app).
- Click on the “Local 4+” app and hit “Install”.
- You can access Local 4+ though the apps page or add it to your favorites so that it appears on your TV’s Home Screen.
Now that you’re on Local 4+ you can watch our live and previous newscasts, get the local forecast from the 4Warn Weather Team at the click of a button, and look for specific segments or shows by category including Live In The D and so much more!
That’s it! Thanks for downloading!
