DETROIT – A national poll from C.S. Mott Children's Hospital found about half of parents are very confident they can get a same day appointment with their child's pediatrician.
However, more parents are confident they can get same-day phone advice when their child is sick.
60% of parents polled were more confident in getting advice over the phone. That's compared to 53% of parents being confident in getting in to see the doctor on the first day of a child's illness.
42% of parents also said they would take their child to an urgent care or into an emergency department if their child woke up sick.
