ROSCOMMON, Mich. – The Higgins Lake Foundation is taking action against swimmer's itch this summer, calling the problem its top priority. A local task force put together to tackle the issue is meeting regularly about improving the problem at the popular Higgins Lake in Michigan.
Swimmer's itch is a temporary problem that makes the skin itch because of small, raised papules. People can get the bumps from swimming in lakes and the infection usually lasts from a few days to a week.
