DETROIT – Are you dreaming of a cruise vacation but only have an afternoon to spare? Well there is a cruise you can take right here in Detroit that will give you some gorgeous views of the city and some Motown entertainment as well- The Detroit Princess.
The Detroit Princess is a large river boat which cruises up and down the Detroit River. It started with a company out of Lansing that owned a river boat over there and wanted to expand to the Detroit Market. They bought up a beautiful old casino boat that was once a part of the Player's Riverboat Casino fleet, a business ran by Merv Griffin.
The boat is large, able to serve 1,300 people a buffet style dinner, with 5 floors for passengers to roam around and view the city. It's height, which is taller then some of the freighters, allows for a different look at Detroit and Windsor.
They also provide a meal and a show with a Motown band playing in the banquet halls throughout the cruise. Drinks are also available for additional purchase.
Prices start at $48 for adults and $42 for seniors for their lunch cruise. For their full list of available cruises and prices, please visit their website here.
