If you’re looking for a new movie to watch at home, there are some options this weekend. Big names stars like Jennifer Lopez and Eddie Murphy are in new movies streaming to your TV. Movie reviewer Greg Russell sat down with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare to share his thoughts on “You People”, “Shotgun Wedding”, and “The Pez Outlaw”.
Jennifer Lopez plays a bride on a mission in a new movie with Josh Duhamel. “Shotgun Wedding” isn’t about a last minute marriage, it’s more about shotguns at the marriage. When bandits raid the island wedding, the groom and the bride, Duhamel and Lopez , go on the fight to save the day. Throw in a bunch of comedy relief from actors like Jennifer Coolidge and you have a recipe for an action-adventure, comedic romp that highlights all the strengths of love. Russell says the movie will warm you up in the cold temperatures this weekend, and that everyone is spot-on with the comedy. He gave the movie four out of five reels.
Also out today is “You People” on Netflix. This movie stars Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and many more in a relationship comedy that shows coming from opposite sides of the track can mean opposites attract. But, just because you love someone doesn’t mean you’ll love their family, or that the families will get along. Russell said the comedy in this can make you cringe or feel a little uncomfortable, but that’s the intention. In the end it’s all about laughing at tough situations so you can find a common ground. Russell gave the movie three out of five reels.
