After getting another golden buzzer, and being told by Simon Cowell that they should play the Super Bowl, it all came down to America’s vote for The Detroit Youth Choir (DYC) on “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars”. While they didn’t take home the top prize, they won over fans across the nation, and won the hearts of everyone in and around Detroit. Fresh off their performance on “AGT: All-Stars” with the rock band Weezer, DYC joined “Live In The D” host Tati Amare and guest-host Blaine Fowler in studio.
“They represented the city very well. They represent their parents, their school, everybody, they represent everybody so well,” said Choir Director Anthony White. White and the kids spoke about appearing on the show and performing with Weezer saying they had experiences that will last a lifetime.
One things that stuck with them was Simon Cowell saying they should perform at the Super Bowl to which singer Zion said, “I was shocked. I’m so happy because the Super Bowl is huge. So, hopefully, 2024″
White also spoke about a fundraiser concert the DYC has coming up on March 19th at Orchestra Hall. It will also feature a Tony Award winning Broadway singer. To hear more about the concert and hear what the students had to say about the direction of Mr. White, watch the video above.
