A new series highlights a new Detroit Piston in town

This docuseries will help you get to know the team’s top draft pick from June

While everyone is focused on the Lions, the Detroit Pistons are getting ready for a season that starts next month. One of the newest member’s of the team, Ausar Thompson, was just drafted in June and will make his rookie debut in October. Now, you have a chance to learn more about the road he took to get to the NBA thanks to the series “One Shot: Overtime Elite”

Overtime Elite is a premiere basketball league for high school aged basketball players. The program looks to develop these potential NBA players holistically. Head of Basketball and General Manager for Overtime Elite, Damien Wilkins, talked to “Live In The D” about his program, and the show that will put a spotlight on Thompson and his twin brother.

“You’re going to learn a lot about his path and how hard he worked to get to where he is now,” said Wilkins. “You’re going to learn about all the challenges that he faced, because there were some tough days, and I think he’ll tell you that.” Wilkins went on to say they are excited to see what comes in his future.
