Pop-up experience says ‘cheers’ to Valentine’s Day

Whether you’re celebrating with your friends or significant other, you can raise a glass to love this Valentine’s Day. A pop-up experience in Royal Oak called Cupid’s Hideaway is serving up cocktails with names like Punch Drunk Love and Love on the Rocks.

Cupid’s Hideaway is a basement bar under Bandit Tavern & Hideaway in Royal Oak. It is adorned with pink, red and love-themed décor. There’s also a dark room where you can write a letter to your ex.

Kelly VanderEyk, the general manager of Bandit Tavern & Hideaway, appeared on Live In The D to talk about the pop-up experience and to mix a cocktail in the studio. Below you’ll find the recipe for the drink she made.

Heart of Gold cocktail:

• 2 ounces of Bourbon
• 1 ounce of honey simple (1 part water, 1 part honey)
• Splash of lemon juice
• Edible glitter

The Cupid’s Hideaway pop-up experience will run through Saturday, February 17th.
