The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan and the Michigan Science Center are heating up the cookie game with a special partnership. It delves into the science behind the cookies with a program called “Cookie Nightmares.”
Cookie Nightmares demonstrates what can go wrong when you’re baking cookies. It’s an activity the science center has available when the Girl Scouts are there selling cookies, said Angela Cavanagh, the public programs manager at Michigan Science Center.
Mi-Sci’s activity focuses on the ingredients that contribute to the structure of cookies, such as flour, Cavanagh explained. Visitors are able to see what happens when cookies are made with too much flour and what happens when they’re make with not enough flour.
