Spring is a popular time for remodeling projects and there are a variety of different routes you can take to design your home. Principal designer, and owner of Simmons + Co. Design Build, Veronica Simmons, stopped by “Live in the D” to talk about the latest home improvement trends.
Simmons recently visited the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas and she said one of the biggest takeaways from the show was that color is becoming more popular. Traditionally color has been used in things such as accents and wall color, but now it’s being used in all types of appliances.
She also explained how biophilic designs are trending because of all the elements used in the design. Not only does it use different elements, but you can incorporate the design in so many different spaces. Biophilic designs stem from the word biophilia which is all about bringing nature into your home.
Simmons made it clear that when redesigning your home, it’s important to have a professional with you. The goal when remodeling should be to create a comprehensive design.
