Oakland County company takes standup paddle boarding to new heights

As the summer starts to wind down, one unique water activity is still making waves. You may have heard of standup paddle boarding, but what about incorporating yoga with it?

Luna Moon Standup Paddle Boarding, a company out of Sylvan Lake in Oakland County, is actually doing this. Owner Misty Marcum is a yoga instructor who holds paddle board lessons and she says combining the two activities has been a hit.

“My classes are fun. People really get into it. One class they started hula hooping while on the board,” Marcum said.

She holds group and private lessons for standup paddle boarding, and yoga paddle boarding for all ages.

The water sessions will run through October, and the land yoga classes are ongoing.
