Fall can provide the perfect backdrop to enjoy all that Michigan has to offer, and one of those place is Gaylord which is known as the Alpine Village.
“Gaylord is right in the center part of northern Michigan right in the center of some of Michigan’s most beautiful forestland,” said Paul Beachnau, who is the Executive Director of the Gaylord Tourism Bureau.
Aside from offering a place to see fall colors, Gaylord is also filled with hiking and biking opportunities. There’s even a trail that goes all the way from Gaylord to Mackinaw City.
Visitors who make their way to Gaylord could also see wildlife like turkey, deer, and elk. The City of Gaylord even maintains an elk herd of about 40 animals at a park.
