Have you ever heard of winter river rafting? It’s just one of the many adventures to be had in Gaylord this time of year.
Gaylord is located in Otsego County in northern Michigan. It’s part of what’s known as Michigan’s snow belt, which has already had more than 70 inches of snow this year.
Gaylord is also home to Otsego Resort, which Gaylord Tourism Executive Director Paul Beachnau says is one of the original ski resorts in Michigan. It has 34 runs and five chair lifts. Otsego Resort also offers tubing and cross country skiing.
If you’re looking for a different kind of adventure in Gaylord, you might want to try out the winter river rafting on the Sturgeon River.
