Detroit film maker makes big screen debut – R&B superstar SZA stars alongside actress KeKe Palmer in the comedy “One of Them Days.” The movie, which was produced by “Barbie” actress Issa Rae, was Directed by Detroit native Lawrence Lamont, who stopped by “Live in the D” while in town for a screening of the movie.

He described what it was like working with the ladies. “It was amazing. They are such pros,” Lamont said. In the movie, Keke and SZA play best friends who experience an eventful day while trying to get back their rent money from a boyfriend. Throughout their adventure, they encounter several roadblocks.

“One of Them Days,” will be in theaters Friday, January 17.
