Summer is just around the corner, and that means festivals and seasonal outdoor fun.
“Live in the D‘s” April Morton was live in Center Line, to give us a sneak peek at some upcoming weekend events happening in Macomb County.
“Nine years ago, we decided to take our annual fireworks, and change it into a weekend-long fest,” said Bob Binson, Mayor of Center Line. He’s talking about the Center Line Independence Festival, happening the weekend of May 30th. The family-friendly event will feature carnival rides, food, and plenty of activities. This year the fest is coinciding with a big event happening in Warren.
“Everyone is eagerly awaiting summer, so Warren decided to join Center Line in really bringing our event this year,” said Warren Mayor Lori Stone.
Stone and other community leaders said their annual summer kickoff event cannot be missed. The event features family-friendly activities from Warren City Hall to Civic Center South.
The “Center Line Independence Festival takes place on Friday, May 30th from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. and Saturday, May 31st from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. There will also be an event for classic car lovers, the Cruisin’ 53 Car Show takes place Sunday, June 1st from noon until 6 p.m. at Center Line Memorial Park.
In addition to the family fun, there will be free parking and shuttle buses to the event location.
