Construction crews have been busy - preparing the 100-lap street-circuit course. The crews are not the only ones preparing; Racecar driver, Roman De Angelis joined “Live in the D” to give some insight on his preparation for the competition.

“Street circuit in general is obviously temporary…they just put up concrete barriers and you have to race between them so there is really no room for error…That’s what makes these street races so exciting,” said De Angelis.

There are other events tied to the big racing weekend. For the first time in history the Grand Prix will host a free car show on Friday night featuring food vendors.

“I haven’t gotten to see my family and friends often nor do I have them at races so having 20 or 30 of my closest friends and family come out to watch is amazing and being in a city I grew up loving,” said De Angelis, who grew up in the Windsor, Ontario area.

Racing begins Friday May 30th and wraps up on Sunday, June 1st. For more information on how you can get tickets to the Grand Prix, click here.
