Takeout Tuesday featured a new favorite spot in Ann Arbor. Ondo Bakery is known for its authentic rich flavorful desserts, café drinks, and delightful brunch experience. Ondo’s founder, Min Kyu Kim, joined “Live in the D” to talk about what makes his bakery concept unique.
“In Asian bakeries you are given a tray and a tong and it’s very interactive - where you walk along rows and pick whichever pastries you’d like,” Kim said.
The biggest compliment to a pastry is “not too sweet,” and that is the goal Ondo strives to achieve within the menu. The location was formerly known as Ann Arbor Roasting company and soft-launched in September of 2024 as the now East Asian inspired café.
“As you see here, we have varieties from sweet to savory from crispy to soft so it’s a very interactive process.” You’ll find Ondo Bakery at 324 S. State Street.
