When it comes to celebrating birthdays at restaurants, there’s often a tricky question: Who pays the bill?

Whether you are the birthday guest of honor or part of the party, navigating the etiquette of splitting the check can get pretty complicated. Friends of the show April “AP” Lockett and Dave Mishevitz joined “Live in the D” for a sit-down conversation.

“If it’s a friend and we’re getting together to celebrate a birthday then we all got it... If I’m taking my wife out and we invite friends then I’ve got it,” Mishevitz said.

Live in the D hosts brought up a key point: What happens if someone orders drinks and you don’t drink yourself?

“Everybody should know what to do, split the bill and they can say I ordered the Don,” Lockett said.
