In a significant move to enhance cancer care accessibility in Metro Detroit, the Cancer and Hematology Center (CHC) has opened its ninth location in partnership with Garden City Hospital. This expansion aims to deliver cutting-edge oncology services to the community, eliminating the need for patients to travel far for expert care.
“We focus here on not just treating the disease process itself,” said Dr. Mirna Farhat, MD. “We also focus on the patient, their quality of life, their values, their concerns, and we try to help the patients and their families throughout this journey.”
The new facility offers a comprehensive range of services under one roof, including medical and radiation oncology, a fully-equipped lab for blood draws, an infusion center for chemotherapy, and diagnostic imaging for CAT scans and MRIs. Additionally, the center provides a specialty pharmacy, financial counselors, and social workers to support patients’ needs.
“Fighting cancer is, I think, one of the toughest journeys that they’re going through,” Farhat added. “Being a part of this journey and being able to help and make a difference is, I think, priceless.”
The presence of CHC in Garden City is particularly significant as it addresses an unmet need for oncology and hematology care in the area. For more information or to book an appointment, visit their website at thechc.com or call 1-800-411-7999.
