Fans of the Detroit Tigers and Savvy Sliders are in for a treat, as outfielder Kerry Carpenter collaborates with the popular slider chain for a limited-edition meal combo. It features fresh Angus beef sliders, crinkle fries seasoned with a special house blend, and a unique chocolate custard shake. It’ll be called the “Kerry Bonds” meal.
Carpenter got the nickname when he was a minor league player – in a nod to baseball legend Barry Bonds and his ability to hit home runs.
Rob Angle, Creative Director for Savvy Sliders, appeared on “Live In The D” to show off the new meal combo. He said Carpenter had a “hand in selecting what he’d like his meal to be.” The combo will officially be available July 1st.
To celebrate the launch, Kerry Carpenter will host a meet-and-greet with fans on June 23rd at the Savvy Sliders location at 31301 Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
