Singer mixes Americana, Pop, and Detroit grit into style

Audrey Ray is a Metro Detroit singer who’s preparing for a big performance.

“I was in tears when I found out, I’m just so honored to get to do this,” said Ray, while talking about being the opening act for Country Music Legend Clint Black. She stopped by Live in the D ahead of the performance to chat about her music, and the concert.

“We’re going to bring high energy, and play some of our new music,” Ray said.

She said the grit of being a Detroiter taught her that you have to work hard to get what you want in life.

The concert will take place July 12 at The Aretha Amphitheatre in Detroit.
