A.M. Buzz Brings Bold Brews to Downtown Detroit

New Café Opens July 7th in a historic space

Metro Detroiters have a new spot to kickstart their mornings. A.M. Buzz, a fast-casual coffee shop and café, is officially opening its doors on Monday, July 7, at 600 W. Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Detroit.

The café features espresso drinks, breakfast sandwiches, açaí bowls, floats, and grab-and-go lunches. It’s housed in a historic space that once served as home to Detroit’s WWJ AM Radio station.

General Manager Jason Omtvedt and Barista Jasun McWhorter appeared on “Live In The D” to give viewers a sneak peek of what guests can expect.

Opening day will include free drip coffee for all customers, and throughout opening week, they can enter to win breakfast for their entire office. A.M. Buzz will also roll out weekly community appreciation discounts starting July 21st, offering free coffee and special deals to local workers including first responders, teachers, students, government employees, and nonprofit staff.

The shop will also team up with nearby Cibo Detroit and Cielo Rooftop for “Coffee to Cocktails” Happy Hour Thursdays, offering all-day drink and food specials across the three locations.

A.M. Buzz will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
