Unique furniture store celebrates art and creativity in Detroit

GW Home offers a bold retail experience

A one-of-a-kind furniture store is bringing serious style to the heart of Detroit.

GW Home isn’t your typical furniture store. Instead, the store at the corner of Woodward Avenue and State Street in downtown Detroit fills three floors and 15-thousand square feet with stylish furniture, home décor and Detroit-made art.

“We really wanted to celebrate all of the local talent and creativity,” said CEO Rachel Stewart.

Stewart explained that GW Home is a passion project that she thinks could only happen in Detroit.

Gardner White is returning to its roots with the new store. GW Home is just a few miles away from where the first Gardner White store opened on Fort Street back in 1912.

“We’re so proud to be back here, and I think it’s such a great sign of the vitality of our city,” Stewart said.
