Micro-Weddings: Intimate Celebrations on a Budget

Say Yes to the Dress Without Breaking the Bank

Micro-weddings are fast becoming the go-to choice for couples seeking intimate, budget-friendly celebrations. During an appearance on “Live In The D,” Haley Guyot, manager at The Wedding Shoppe in Berkley, said, “It’s really when brides choose to have 20 to 50 people in a really intimate setting and just more of a special event to celebrate their love.” This emerging trend, partly popularized during the pandemic, allows couples to focus on the meaningful connections with their closest friends and family, rather than hosting a grandiose event.

Haley, who experienced an unplanned micro-wedding herself, adds, “It’s about the bride, it’s about the fiancé, it’s about their love, and it’s really just saving money. We’re all saving money, and it’s more of an experience for the bride and groom or bride and bride, both, to really just have an intimate setting.”

For those looking to say “I do” in style without emptying their wallets, The Wedding Shoppe is participating in the National Bridal Sale, offering dresses from $499 to $999, with accessories like veils and necklaces discounted by up to 75%.
