On Saturday July 12th, Belle Isle will transform into a motor enthusiast’s dream as the Detroit Slingshot Dynasty hosts the city’s inaugural power sports showcase. The event promises a thrilling display, featuring custom slingshots, Harleys, and a battle of the sound systems, all set against the backdrop of Detroit’s vibrant power sports culture.
Quendell Sharfner, the Vice President of Detroit Slingshot Dynasty, is excited about the event. “It’s another opportunity for us to showcase what our slingshots are and what it means to the young kids and adults in the city,” he said during an appearance on “Live In The D.”
The event also reflects the group’s commitment to community service. “When we go down to Rosa Park, we hand out food. They’re coming out to the train station. They’re all walking around it. They love it. It’s a toy for us, but we love to be able to give back to the community,” Sharfner said.
For those looking to attend, the event kicks off at the Belle Isle Casino, though there’s a $14 charge to enter the park. Whether you’re riding in on two wheels or three, it’s an experience not to be missed.
