Ford Field is set to host the One Pride Blood Drive this Saturday, a collaborative effort between the Detroit Lions and Versiti Blood Center of Michigan to address the critical dip in blood donations during the summer months. The event promises not only to save lives but also to bring the community together in a celebratory atmosphere.
During an appearance on “Live In The D,” Kristin Brenner, Senior Director of Blood Operations at Versiti, highlighted the importance of the event. “I really can’t think of a whole lot of different things that you could do on a Saturday than to give back to the community and give life.”
The drive will run from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with the goal of collecting 398 units of blood, which translates to potentially saving 400 Michigan lives. Attendees can expect free parking, a swift donation process, and an exciting lineup of activities including meet and greets with Rory, the Lions mascot, performances by the Detroit Lions cheerleaders, and appearances by Lions legends.
