- Cream the Rabbit makes public appearance
If you grew up in the ’50s and ’60s, you might remember Cream the Rabbit, the beloved puppet sidekick from “Milky’s Movie Party” that aired on Saturday afternoons. After decades, Cream will make a public appearance at the Detroit Historical Museum Friday at 11 a.m.
- African World fest at Hart Plaza
Celebrate the rich legacy of the African diaspora at the African World Fest, happening July 18 through July 20 at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit. The festival features vendors, food, clothing, entertainment and more from around the world. This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
Get moving with a fun run at Freedom Hill Park in Sterling Heights, running July 18 through July 20. It’s a great way for families to stay active and enjoy the summer outdoors.
Basketball fans, get ready! The Detroit Amps will hold their first ever Big Three game on Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m. The league was founded by music legend and actor Ice Cube, who is also set to perform at the game.
On Sunday, July 20, the Irwin House Gallery on West Grand Blvd in Detroit will host two creative events. From 1 to 4 p.m., enjoy “The Mirrored Table, Ash and Honey,” a brunch combining art, food and music. Then from 3 to 7 p.m., experience “Art and Dance,” an outdoor dance party and creative showcase featuring local artists.
