Singer-songwriter Nadim Azzam is set to take the stage at the iconic Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre on August 20th, as part of the “Wednesday Jazzy Nights” series. Known for his unique fusion of hip hop, acoustic soul, and spoken word, Azzam’s performances are as heartfelt as they are electrifying.
“My musical process has been a ‘yes and’ situation,” Azzam shared during his appearance on “Live In The D’s” Music Monday segment. “I started out as a hard rock kid on electric guitar, but I couldn’t choose between singing and rapping, so I just blended it all together.”
For Azzam, music is more than just a career - it’s a lifeline. “The music that saved my life is the music that allowed me to feel okay when I was going through it,” he said. His upcoming performance promises not only a night of fun but also a soulful connection with the audience.
The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, with its breathtaking view of the river and another country as its backdrop, sets the stage for an unforgettable night. Azzam expressed his excitement about performing at such a revered venue, saying, “I’m extremely humbled and grateful to get to open for Raheem DeVaughn and Teedra Moses. It’s going to be an amazing show.”
