Detroit’s Arab & Chaldean Festival Returns to Hart Plaza

Free two-day event to spotlight culture, food, music and family fun

One of Metro Detroit’s most vibrant summer traditions is back. The Arab & Chaldean Festival returns to Hart Plaza July 26–27, celebrating over five decades of culture, food, music, and community.

“This festival is about building bridges,” said Dr. Jacoub Mansour, president of the Arab & Chaldean Festival, during an appearance on Live In The D. “We want to bring people together, and downtown Detroit is the place to do it.”

The free event will feature live entertainment, a cultural gallery, fashion shows, family-friendly kids’ activities - and of course, Middle Eastern food. Vendors from across the region will serve dishes like shawarma, falafel, and more.

“For over 50 years, we’ve stayed rooted in Detroit,” Mansour added. “We’re proud to keep this celebration downtown, where it belongs.”
