When you think of great bourbon, Kentucky often comes to mind. However, one entrepreneur is showing the world that Michigan has what it takes to produce exceptional bourbon.
Varchasvi Shankar, president and CEO of Shankar Distillers, joined “Live in the D” to share his globally recognized brand—all made right here in Michigan.
“Michigan has an unbelievable climate, great corn, and Great Lakes Water. Some people don’t realize you can make some amazing spirits right here,” Shankar said.
A big part of Shankar Distillers’ experience is their tasting room, where visitors can sample a variety of cocktails made with their spirits. Bar manager Dennis Sekulic shared some of the popular cocktails they offer and demonstrated a signature drink during the segment.
Ray Drzala, Director of Marketing at Shankar emphasized how you can taste and tour this one-of-a-kind experience.
“We make some great cocktails, we have a full tasting room and tours on Fridays and Saturdays,” Drzala said.
