Diners can experience a taste of Cuba with Frita Batidos, a vibrant spot known for Cuban-inspired street food, from spiced burgers to sweet, refreshing batidos.
Eve Aronoff and Paterno Johnson from Frita Batidos joined “Live in the D” to share their story and menu highlights.
The name “Frita” refers to a Cuban-style spiced burger that stands apart from the classic burger with its unique seasoning and toppings.
“Fritas are traditionally Cuban burgers, served on a soft bun with shoestring fries on top,” Aronoff explained.
Their menu features bold flavor combinations inspired by Cuban cuisine. Aronoff and Johnson talked through some of the dishes they brought in, showcasing the rich culinary heritage behind each item.
“My grandmother lived in Miami, and I spent a lot of time with her growing up. I kind of always kept that influence in my heart as I became a chef later in life,” Aronoff said.
Frita Batidos is located in Detroit and Ann Arbor welcoming locals to enjoy a taste of Cuba.
