In an era dominated by screens, mosaic artist Michelle Sider is turning to the timeless craft of mosaic art to foster connection and creativity. From her studio in Huntington Woods, Sider crafts vibrant, light-catching artworks from glass collected worldwide. “Taking art and using it, coming together, being in the moment, you have to pay attention to what you’re doing,” Sider shared during her appearance on “Live In The D.”
Sider, a former clinical psychologist, has seen firsthand the transformative power of art. “I have one grandmother whose grandson was deployed and she was terrified of him being in the army. She came in and she started, she took one of my workshops and I saw her be immersed in the moment,” she recounted.
Through her workshops, Sider provides a space for individuals to move off their screens and into a community of creativity and catharsis.
