It’s Buy Michigan Week, and you can celebrate this weekend at a festival that’s all about shopping local.
The 15th annual Buy Michigan Now Festival is moving to a new location. For the time time, the festival will be held in South Lyon, instead of Northville.
“We thought it was time to kind of shine a spotlight on a new community. South Lyon Hotel had a bad fire several years ago, and so this is a community that’s in a rebirth stage and we wanted to support it,“ explained Lisa Diggs, the founder of Buy Michigan Now.
In addition to a new location, axe throwing is also another new addition to the festival. Other entertainment will include live music, along with games and activities for kids.
The Buy Michigan Now Festival will be taking place at Lafayette and Lake Streets in downtown South Lyon. The event runs Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3.
