  • John E. Lawrence Summer jazz series in Ypsilanti Township

The John E. Lawrence Summer Jazz Series returns for its fifth anniversary, featuring local and national jazz artists. This week, Detroit’s own Randy Scott, whose newly released single recently hit number one on Billboard, will perform. The series kicks off Friday, August 1 at 6 p.m. and runs every Friday in August at Ford Lake Park.

  • Jazz on the River at Elizabeth Park in Trenton

Celebrating 28 years, Jazz on the River offers a full lineup of local, national, and international jazz artists. The festival takes place on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, with gates opening at 10 a.m. and showtime at 1:30 p.m.

  • Blues, Brews, and Barbecue festival in Westland

This free, family-friendly event features thirty live performances from local and national acts, over a dozen food vendors including multiple BBQ options, a beer tent, and a drone and fireworks show. It is taking place on Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2 at Thomas H. Brown Central Park.

  • Blake’s farm 10th annual Cider Dayze Festival in Armada

Celebrate craft beverages at Blake’s Farm’s 10th annual Cider Dayze Festival. The event highlights more than fifty regional producers of beer, wine, and spirits, plus a silent disco and entertainment. The festival is on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3.

  • Outdoor Arts Festival at Eliza Howell Park in Detroit

Eliza Howell Park in Detroit’s Brightmoor neighborhood will transform into an outdoor arts festival featuring one-of-a-kind art facilities, live entertainment from more than fifty local artists, vendors and more. The sidewalk festival takes place Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2.
