Detroit chef and team compete on ‘The Food Network’

“Cooking with Que” team are competing on “The Great Food Truck Race”

A Detroit chef and her team are shining in the national spotlight on “The Food Network”.

Quiana “Que” Rice and her “Cooking with Que” team are competing on “The Great Food Truck Race”.

The new season of the show premiered Sunday night, and Que’s team advanced to the next round.

“The goal of this show is sales, so whoever has the most money in their till at the end of the day wins, and it is a race -- it is not a game,” Que said.

Chef Que appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about the competition and what it means to represent Detroit and Detroit’s food scene.

“Detroit -- we got grit, we work our butts off, and I think we’re hustlers, so putting us in an environment like that, I felt it was comfortable. I felt like I’d already been prepping for it,” Que said.

The food truck is just a part of Que’s story. She also offers cooking classes at The Kitchen by Cooking with Que, which is located on Woodware Ave. in Detroit.
