August is National Immunization Month, and that even applies to our furry friends.
“Keeping your pets up-to-date on their vaccinations is extremely important,” said Lidia Vesterfelt with Michigan Humane.
Vaccines can prevent pets from becoming ill and potentially transmitting illness to other pets or family members.
There are a variety of vaccines from Rabies to distemper, and leptospirosis. You can talk to your veterinarian to find out which vaccines are right for your pet.
Michigan Humane offers low-cost vaccination clinics, including an upcoming event on Saturday, August 9 at the Marygrove Conservancy in Detroit. Click here for additional information about this event and others.
Michigan Humane also has multiple pets that are looking for their forever home. Wiggles is an adorable dog who true to her name is known for her wiggly energy. Watch the video above to meet Wiggles.
