Acorn Farm is set to host its 17th annual Polish Pottery Sale, a beloved tradition that turns the charming town of Milford into a hub for lovers of handcrafted, functional art. The event, which kicks off Thursday August 7th and runs through Sunday August 10th, promises not just beautiful pottery but also a festive atmosphere complete with Polish dancers and cuisine.
Owner Kathy Magaluk, who appeared on “Live In The D,” describes Polish pottery as “functional art” that combines beauty with durability. “It was peasant pottery,” she explained, “never meant to be a fragile pottery that you couldn’t use.” The sale will feature a variety of intricately designed pieces, including limited edition items that are signed by the artist.
In addition to the sale, Acorn Farm will host a lively “Polish Pottery Party” to kick off the event. “We have Polish dancers that perform, and we bring in Polish Village Cafe to feed everybody some food,” Magaluk said, noting that doors open at 5 p.m. on Thursday with festivities beginning an hour earlier.
Acorn Farm, located in downtown Milford, is a kitchen and home goods store known for its unique offerings. During the sale, all pottery will be available at a 20% discount, and the event will run through Sunday as part of the Milford Memories festival.
