Detroit Set to Groove: AfroFuture Festival Brings Global Beats

Detroit Prepares for AfroFuture’s U.S. Debut

Detroit is tuning up for an electrifying weekend as the AfroFuture Festival makes its U.S. debut on August 16th and 17th. Promising a celebration of art, culture, and creativity, the festival will spotlight local talents, including DJ Jeanine Styles, who appeared on “Live In The D” to share her excitement about the event.

“This is going to be a cultural shift for the city,” said Styles. “It’s reshaping the expectations from Detroit and providing opportunities to local artists by bridging the gap between artists from Africa and Detroit.”

The festival, set to transform Detroit’s cultural landscape, will also serve as a global stage for the citys’ vibrant music scene. “Being part of this festival is every DJ’s dream,” Styles said. “It’s a great global opportunity to reach folks I never thought I would reach.”

Catch the AfroFuture Festival at Bedrock’s Douglass Site (corner of Beaubien Blvd. and Winder St.) on August 16th and 17th, with DJ Jeanine Styles performing on Sunday, August 17th, at 2:30 PM.
