From the “America’s Got Talent” stage to the local spotlight, the Detroit Youth Choir is known for their incredible performances and inspiring young talent, and now the choir is ready for its next round of auditions.
“I believe that all young people need that opportunity to shine because in their high school choirs and their school choirs, they don’t get a chance to be on TV and to travel across the world. Why not do that within the Detroit Youth Choir? I’m so fortunate. It’s really good to provide that for these young people,” said DYC Artistic Director Anthony White.
The audition process includes submitting a video where applicants describe themselves and why they want to be part of the Detroit Youth Choir, White explained. The video should be two minutes and include the applicant’s name, age, school, and grade. DYC hopefuls should sing a verse and chorus of a song.
DYC open auditions will be held in-person on August 23 from noon until 5 p.m. at the Marygrove Conversancy on W. McNichols in Detroit.
