The competition will be heating up and the smell of smoky barbecue will be in the air at Detroit’s Eastern Market this weekend for Hour Detroit’s GrillFest.
“Guests can taste, sip, and shop their way through the event with curated local marketplace shopping, ice cold drinks, cocktails, and tasting in the Best Bite competition," said Lindsay Sheridan with Hour Media.
Guests can vote for the Best Bite, and a winning restaurant or business will be crowned at the end of the event.
Andrew Dolich with Oliva Pasta will be among the participants in the Best Bite competition. Dolich said he’s focusing on Italian tradition and Michigan seasonality.
In addition to a plethora of food, there will be music, games, and a kids’ zone. GrillFest will be held Sunday, August 17th at Eastern Market’s Shed 5. The event is from noon until 4 p.m.
