Dragon on the Lake Festival Celebrates 16 Years with Art, Music, and Dragon Boats

Lake Orion’s vibrant celebration of creativity and competition

Lake Orion’s beloved Dragon on the Lake Festival is back for its 16th year, promising a weekend filled with art, music, and exhilarating dragon boat races. Kicking off this Thursday at the Dragon Pub, the festival runs through Sunday, the 24th, offering a myriad of activities for attendees to enjoy.

Stephanie McIntyre, the festival producer, shared her excitement on “Live In The D,” stating, “We have our signature event, which is Dragon Boat Racing. It takes place on Lake Orion on Sunday.” This thrilling race is just one of many highlights, alongside live music, a chalk art challenge, and an extensive arts and crafts fair.

Among the talented artists showcasing their work is Gerriann Reimann of Lady Day Clay. Reimann, who appeared on “Live In The D,” expressed her passion for pottery. “It’s so therapeutic - for one thing - but to be able to take something from the Earth and just create beauty out of it is truly enjoyable,” she said. Her handcrafted clay pieces will be available for purchase, along with many other unique artworks from local and visiting artists.
