Unique jewelry offers a colorful way to sport your school pride

Collection of jewelry made with graffiti from campus rocks

Rather than wearing a t-shirt or sweatshirts, there’s a different way you can rock your school pride or rep your alma mater.

Rebel Nell, which is known for turning graffiti into jewelry, has a Campus Rocks collection that’s taking old paint from the University of Michigan’s campus rock and using it to create vibrant, new jewelry.

“If there’s a state that has the most aggressively amazing fans of universities, I think Michigan is it,” said Kim Blair, the vice president of Rebel Nell.

Blair specifically highlighted the fandom for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

“The least we could do is celebrate that and recreate some of those amazing, iconic moments moments of your history as an alumni or whatever that looks like into a moment, a graffiti, a piece of art,” she said.

Blair explained that it all starts with paint that’s collected from The Rock in Ann Arbor, then a secret process is used on the paint. Next, the paint is cut into pieces with a punch machine and placed into a jewelry setting before resin is applied.

It’s not just Wolverines who might want to wear Rebel Nell’s jewelry. Other colleges represented in the Campus Rocks collection, include Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and Albion College.
