This week’s forecast indicated a significant cool down of temperatures. It’s also a bit of a reality check, clothing-wise. You may find yourself suddenly rummaging around for a jacket or sweatshirt. The addition of some layers is a practical move, but Local 4 Lifestyle Editor Jon Jordan says, we need to rethink the “automatic” abandonment of our summer wardrobe.
“Let’s retire some rules like, no white after Labor Day,” Jordan said. During an appearance on Live in the D, he said it’s about looking forward to fall but also thinking forward. Below are a few “rule-busting” trend ideas.
#1-Don’t hang up your bright colors for the fall. Red, especially a cherry color, is trending now.
#2-Don’t put away pastels. Integrate them into your fall wardrobe.
#3-Incorparate “flimsy” fabrics into your wardrobe. Things like mesh, lace and silky.
#4-Don’t put away shorts, knee length pants and capris. You can wear tights and leggings underneath. Add substantial footwear, like cowboy boots.
Jordan says flip flops will be a trend this fall.
